Description
Today, you would call it a publicity stunt: England’s King George I has a 50-piece orchestra play on a boat on the Thames – an exclusive party for London’s high society. Handel specifically wrote the dance movements, which later became famous as his »Water Music«, for this July night in 1717. Belgium’s B’Rock Orchestra complements Handel’s masterpiece with a rarely heard concerto by the Fleming Henri-Jacques de Croes.
