Awareness

Everyone has their personal physical and psychological boundaries that are non-negotiable and must be recognized and respected. We want to live in a culture in which these are recognized. To achieve that, we have created structures (internal point of contact, see below) that enable us to respond to cases of personal boundary violations.

We create spaces where boundaries can be communicated openly. The creation of said places however is an ever evolving process which requires critical reflection and nuanced conversations.

If a violation of a personal boundary is being reported to us we listen. We acknowledge the trust that is being placed in us and  treat it with respect and confidentiality.  

We act on behalf of the affected person, respect their wishes and refer them to external contact points if requested and deemed necessary. At the same time, we are aware of the possibility and effects of defamation.

As operators of the annual Beethovenfest we know that awareness has to result in taking responsibility which we do to ensure the framework for lively celebrations and enthusiastic work.

That is why we strive for awareness in dealing with one another: in front of as well as behind and on the stage.

If you have experienced or observed a situation that you perceived as transgressive, you will find various contact options here. Our internal contact point is made up of Beethovenfest employees and is subject to confidentiality at all times.

In addition, you will find a selection of independent general counselling centres below.

Within our institution, an awareness team is available to the staff, audience and artists for any cases of border violation that may occur.
