She can sing ultra high and remains ultra cool: Soprano Golda Schultz and the Chamber Orchestra of Europe bring the glamour of opera and Broadway to the festival.
What’s the longest note you’ve ever sung?
I haven’t measured it yet, but I think it was Anne Trulove’s high C in »The Rake’s Progress« by Igor Stravinsky. But maybe we’ll check that again in Bonn! (laughs)
What was the largest cast you’ve ever been on stage with?
Mahler’s Eighth Symphony, the so-called »Symphony of a Thousand«. Huge orchestra, huge choir, lots of soloists. Wow!
What was the shortest preparation time you ever had for a role?
I only had ten days to learn the part of Marzelline from Beethoven’s »Fidelio«.
How high was the highest point on earth that you have travelled to?
That was Mount Fuji in Japan – it’s about 3,770 metres high. I wasn’t quite at the top though ...
