The title »Speaking in Tongues« refers to a phenomenon in which people speak in languages apparently unknown to them. Under the direction of Beethovenfest Fellow Jakob Nierenz, musicians from the African diaspora come together to compose and improvise. Inspired by the musical heritage of the Afro-diaspora people, they tell a many-voiced story about Black identity.
