Ludwig van Beethoven
Symphony No. 9 in D Minor, op. 125
Description
7 May 1824 in Vienna’s Kärntnertortheater: The completely deaf Beethoven lifts his baton for the premiere of his Ninth Symphony. 200 years later, young musicians from all over the world celebrate this anniversary work with a European tour, which concludes in Bonn. For this, Tan Dun also conducts his commissioned work »Nine. Ode to Compassion« in which he rediscovers Beethoven’s music in the sounds of our modern urban life. This concert is also the Campus Project 2024.
