Description
With his »Art of the Fugue«, Bach created one of the most comprehensive musical studies of equal voices. On the occasion of our festival theme, it is natural to invite Spain’s Cuarteto Casals with a quartet version of the vast collection of fugues. In this work, the following question challenges the musicians: »When should the identity of the individual succumb to the needs of the collective? Are we one or are we four?«
