Description
Erich Korngold composed his much-too-rarely-performed Violin Concerto in Los Angeles, where numerous Jewish artists had found refuge from the Nazi regime. A touch of Hollywood permeates the piece – and Bomsori Kim interprets it with an almost tender sound. It is joined by a Romantic early work by Schoenberg and Beethoven’s Seventh – yearning meets exuberance.
