Description
Beethoven’s patron Andrei Razumovsky took the three Quartets op. 59 for a joke – the pieces seemed unplayable. The Quatuor Ébène presents the versatile and imaginative first of these alongside the mighty Quartet op. 130. It stands out among the late works: five innovative movements, and to top it off, a futuristic fugue as a gigantic finale. The residency couldn’t come to a more brilliant conclusion!
