The concert at a glance
Description
Her works were barely printed in her lifetime and performed under a pseudonym: Dora Pejačević’s colourful music is now experiencing a rediscovery on the concert stages. Her cello sonata is on a par with Shostakovich’s far more familiar cello sonata. Tanja Tetzlaff pairs the modern works with two sets of variations by the young Beethoven. He made use of melodies from Mozart’s »The Magic Flute« – already ageless at that time.
