Description
Musical roots in folk songs and dances from Hungary and Turkey: cellist Jean-Guihen Queyras is bringing along three solo works connected to homeland. Zoltán Kodály stamps out Hungarian rhythms 200 years after Bach’s Cello Suites. In his 1955 Partita, Ahmed Adnan Saygun unites Bach’s heritage with the Turkish makam. In addition, Queyras will be presenting a solo work by Fazıl Say.
