Jakob Nierenz
Jakob Nierenz (*1991) is a German/US-American cellist. He is a founding member and solo cellist of ensemble reflektor. He also joined the Between Worlds Ensemble in 2021, which was founded by mandolinist Avi Avital. Since 2022 he has played with the Chineke! Orchestra in London, also as principal cellist. As a chamber musician, Jakob plays in the Rothko String Quartet and the Bremen based string quartet PULSE. In the field of improvisation and transtraditional music, he performs with the Trickster Orchestra from Berlin. As a guest musician, he regularly receives invitations from the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, the Kammerakademie Potsdam and the Ensemble Modern.
Mariama Bah
Mariama Bah (she/her) studied cultural studies and is a founding member of the Young Afro Collective in Lüneburg. She shares her expertise on anti-racist work in workshops, podcasts and panel discussions. Most recently, she was part of a research project on German colonialism in Namibia.
