Workshop about »Speaking in Tongues«

What does ›community‹ mean in the context of the African diaspora? How can artistic responses to this question be found?
In a 90-minute workshop, Mariama Bah and Jakob Nierenz (Beethovenfest Fellow and artistic director of the »Speaking in Tongues« concert) will creatively explore this central question.
»Speaking in Tongues« is a collaborative band project in which four musicians improvise and compose together. For cellist Jakob Nierenz, collaborative and collective work lies at the heart of his artistic identity. During the workshop, you will have the opportunity to meet the concert band and experience their collaborative approach first-hand, offering an in-depth look behind the scenes and enabling you to enjoy the concert in a whole new way.
