Four guys in linen shirts and sneakers play for their lives. Whether Antonín Dvořák or groovy riffs: they deliver top class and have an incredible amount of fun. Especially for Beethovenfest, the young string quartet itself captured the wild concert marathon of their Residence at the 2022 festival on camera. The result is, as always with the vision string quartet: fast-paced and brilliant!

String quartet or band?
The vision string quartet can't and won't decide. So why not do both? In their concerts, the four string players from Berlin combine classical string quartet literature with their own compositions. Their arrangements draw on pop, folk, jazz and Latin and exhaust the possibilities of the stringed instruments: There is drumming, scratching and plucking. Certain techniques like the »chop« replace the drumset, the electric bass is provided by the cello with a strong bass amplifier. Their original compositions are always different, hardly following well-trodden paths: visionary.

Five concerts, no routine
In its residency at the Beethovenfest 2022, the vision string quartet played concerts at completely different venues and with contrasting concepts. They started with a classical evening with string quartets by Dvořák and Ravel, in the atmospheric setting of the Steigenberger Grandhotel on Bonn's Petersberg with a panoramic view of the city. Completely opposite was the ambience of the Dransdorf streetcar hall, an industrial venue in which the quartet's latest pop music from their album »Spectrum« fitted perfectly.
The concept of the two »dark concerts« was completely different: the musicians played in complete darkness, without sheet music, but also without the possibility to coordinate visually to play together. A particularly intense listening experience, for whose programme the musicians collaborated with a group of blind and visually impaired people.
Finally, the four guys rocked the atrium of the Post Tower at the big music evening »Post Classic Vertical«. A residency entirely in the spirit of the festival for »All People«!
