  • An artist stands on a stage in a well-lit room, captivating the audience with a performance.
  • A musician in an orange outfit plays a string instrument on stage with vertical lights, in front of an audience.
  • Various people sit with their backs to the camera in a dimly lit room. Lights cast long shadows on the walls.
  • A musician in a shiny orange outfit plays a traditional West African Kora and sings into a microphone.
  • A musician plays a traditional string instrument on stage, captured through multiple phone screens in a dimly lit setting.
  • A group of adults sits in a dimly lit room, attentively watching something. The mood appears focused and tense.

Momi Maiga hails from a vibrant tradition: as part of a Senegalese griot musician family, he was born surrounded by poetry and music. On the final evening performance of his Fellowship, he presented the songs from his first solo album YOON, which will be released in spring 2027, in an intimate setting. YOON is a deeply personal journey through the roots and future of the kora. The title, which means »path« in Mandinka and Wolof, reflects the spirit of the project: an intimate, searching music that moves between tradition and innovation, memory and discovery.
