In the foyer of the Telekom headquarters, we are showing the exhibition »›Not for women’s hands‹? – Female composers and pianists in the 19th century«, curated by the Music and Gender Research Centre at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media. Historical letters, first editions and original sheet music shed light on the work of women in the immediate vicinity of Ludwig van Beethoven.
Opening hours: 4–12 December, 10:00–20:00, free admission.
Caleb Borick, First Prize winner of the 2023 Telekom Beethoven Competition, returns to Bonn. With a finely balanced program that moves between romantic introspection, classical density, and visionary imagination, the young American pianist opens the 2025 edition of the Competition. With music by Brahms, Schumann, Beethoven and Schubert he explores spaces of solace, remembrance, and tentative dialogue.
The Welcome Concert traditionally marks the beginning of the competition, introducing this year’s participants and offering insights from former prizewinners – an evening of encounters, exchange, and music.
