Description
When home becomes vulnerable: the Trio d’Iroise performs Gideon Klein’s String Trio completed in the Theresienstadt ghetto – a work that evokes the power of Moravian folk melodies in the face of annihilation. The Syrian exile composer Wassim Ibrahim wrote his »Prayer for Hope« for the ensemble, permeated with expressive quarter tones. The concert concludes with the Trio by the captain-composer Jean Cras, written on board in 1926.
