Among the cellists of his generation, Benedict Kloeckner is known for his profound, romantic expressiveness. In the magnificent surroundings of the Redoute in Bad Godesberg, he now plays Sergei Rachmaninov’s epic Cello Sonata with pianist Luisa Imorde. Beethoven’s Sonata for Cello and Piano exudes a more dialogical spirit. And as an intermezzo, the duo has chosen Arvo Pärt’s »Fratres«, a mystical work that
celebrates nature.
