How do I book a ticket?
- Free, individual 20-minute slots can be booked for each individual on the dates specified
- Ticket booking from 1 September 2024 on the BASIC:LAW website
- Spontaneous booking at the info counter at the Festival Centre at the Kreuzkirche (opening hours during the festival period: Tue–Sun 12:00–17:00)
Where do the concerts take place?
The BASIC:LAW encounters will take place in the stage container of the Festival Centre on the square in front of the Kreuzkirche in Bonn. Please note: this is a sea freight container designed by us without windows. The door will be closed during the concert. We therefore do not recommend the concerts for people sensitive to closed spaces.
Are the concerts accessible?
The concert container is not barrier-free for wheelchair users; one or two steps must be negotiated at the entrance.
As an audience member, you will be accompanied throughout the entire concert experience by a host who can assist you according to your needs. If you have any questions in advance, you can email us at info@beethovenfest.de or contact our ticket hotline (+49 (0)228 - 20 10 3 44, Mon–Fri, 9:00–15:00).
What programme and musician awaits me?
Selected musicians and fellows of the festival will be playing. We are not revealing in advance who will be there and when. The programme is also created spontaneously by the situation between the musician and the listener. An article on fundamental rights will be selected by chance for your concert, which will serve as a guideline for the programme. The BASIC:LAW concerts are therefore a surprise as far as the music, instrument and musician are concerned!

We celebrate our basic rights together! On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the German Basic Law, we invite you to short concert encounters at the Festival Headquarters under the title BASIC:LAW.
Selected musicians from the festival will bring the first 19 articles of our constitution to life under the title BASIC:LAW. In this smallest possible concert format, 1 musician and 1 listener meet for an entertaining musical encounter at eye level, in the spirit of this year’s festival motto »Together«.
BASIC:LAW takes a look at rights, freedoms and duties – both in musical and socio-political terms. Chance decides which article of fundamental rights will form the basis for your personal concert. So who plays, on which instrument and which works remains a surprise: What does the inviolable dignity of man (Article 1) sound like? How polyphonic is the equality of all before the law (Article 3)? Does the foreign sound remind us of the right to asylum (Article 16a)? Our local hosts are looking forward to an inquisitive and open exchange with you.
