Description
Slavic folklore is full of eerie figures. One of these is the mysterious Baba Yaga, who lives in a hut on chicken legs deep in the forest. Sometimes she appears as a terrifying old witch, sometimes as a seductive but dangerous young woman. Baba Yaga has inspired numerous composers and is the focus of a dance production to be performed at 4 pm in the Studio of the Beethovenhalle. Pianist Sholto Kynoch takes his audience on a half-hour journey for children and families. At the piano, he visits the witch Baba Yaga and other curious characters, accompanied by music by Tchaikovsky, Janáček, Chopin and others.
