What is special about this concert?
The compositions of the leading living composers from Finland, Kalevi Aho, and Sweden, Anders Hillborg, are rarely heard in this country. It is also intriguing to discover how the avant-pop songs of the Icelandic icon Björk sound on woodwind instruments.
How does it sound?
Description
The light is different in the high north of Europe. The cold, clear air seems to colour the music in these parts. One genre that has the ideal sound palette to represent the northern colours is the woodwind quintet. The award-winning musicians of BREEZE immerse the Volksbank-Haus in the mysterious northern lights – with Romantic, popular and new music from Iceland, Finland, Sweden and Denmark.
