What is special about the concert?
All of the evening’s pieces were written in New York – the city’s musical history is represented across the genres: from classical and jazz to minimal music.
How does it sound?
Description
The sound of New York is as lively and full of contradictions as the city itself. The New York string quartet Brooklyn Rider plays music by composers from its home city – Antonín Dvořák wrote his famous »American« string quartet there in 1893. A tour of New York’s musical history, from jazz and minimal music to contemporary music by Colin Jacobsen, the quartet’s second violinist.
