Simina German is an artist who works in theatre, performance and film. She is a director and performer. After her Master of Fine Arts at the Folkwang Universität der Künste she staged projects at different theatres like the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus, the Freies Werkstatt Theater Köln or the Maschinenhaus Essen. Her independent project »Blaubart« was awarded the Petra Meurer Prize 2016.
Shaped by her own history of migration, she artistically tackles topics like migration and multiculturalism time and time again. Since 2016 she has been regularly taking part in Gaga trainings with dancers of the Batsheva Dance Company and Ohad Naharin in the Suzanne Dellal Center in Tel Aviv.
Her work has been shown at the Schauspiel Dortmund, the Museum Folkwang, the Al-Kasaba Theatre in Ramallah and the Centre Pompidou in Paris, amongst others.
