Patricija Škof is a Slovenian vocalist currently based in Basel, Switzerland. She recently completed her Master’s degree in jazz performance at the JazzCampus of the Academy of Music Basel and is now continuing her studies in jazz pedagogy at the same institution. Over the past few years, she has had the opportunity to collaborate and learn from renowned contemporary jazz artists such as Lionel Loueke, Ambrose Akinmusire, Lisette Spinnler, Guillermo Klein, Ben Wendel, Anat Cohen, Sullivan Fortner, and others.
Patricija Škof is the recipient of several awards, including the 44th DownBeat Student Music Award (2021), 3rd prize at Jazzon 2024 – an award for the best Slovenian jazz composition. She was a finalist at the 1st Gábor Winand International Jazz Singing Competition (2022), the Slovenian Chanson Festival (2023), and the MM Jazz Festival (2018). She has also been selected for prestigious projects such as the Elbphilharmonie Jazz Academy, the Bundesjazzorchester, and the JM Jazz World Orchestra, and has collaborated with various ensembles and big bands, including the RTV Slovenia Big Band, Big Band Radlje, Big Band Šentjur, and the Punt Big Band.
As an active performer and bandleader, Patricija leads several musical projects, most notably her trio birds of unknown, which showcases her original compositions and arrangements on both national and international stages. In 2022, the trio released its debut album »Gently Sailing«. At the end of 2024, she released her solo album »Exploration Of My Own Voices«.
