Oxana Omelchuk, born in Belarus, is a composer and musician living in Cologne. She studied composition and electronic composition at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz (HfMT) Köln under Johannes Fritsch und Michael Beil.

Her works include solo, chamber, orchestral and vocal music and are performed internationally. She received commissions for compositions from institutions such as the Deutscher Musikrat, WDR, ORF and the Kunststiftung NRW. Her music has been interpreted by ensembles and orchestras including the Klangforum Wien, Ictus Ensemble and the SWR Symphonieorchester.

Omelchuk’s compositions stand out for their irony, conceptual openness and the transformation of available materials. As a musician, she is active in different formations and has been a member of the interdisciplinary collective Polar Publik since 2020.

She has received numerous awards and stipends, for example the Bernd-Alois-Zimmermann-Stipendium, a Villa-Aurora-Stipendium in Los Angeles as well as the Heidelberger Künstlerinnenpreis. Since October 2025, she has been a visiting lecturer for Composition at the HfMT Köln.
