Lissa Meybohm is a singer, performer and project initiator who sets a focus on contemporary, classical and cross-genre music. The Finnish-German soprano was born in Berlin and studied opera singing in Bremen and Leipzig. Stipends in the Netherlands (Groningen) and the USA (Houston, Texas) completed her training. Since finishing her master’s degree at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Leipzig she has been working internationally as a freelance singer.
Performances took her to the Kurt Weill Fest Dessau, the Concertgebouw Amsterdam and the Moores Opera Center (Houston, TX), amongst others. In Leipzig, she founded the Roter Mond Ensemble with which she develops feminist, transcultural, interdisciplinary and forward-looking projects for the music theatre. In April 2023, her project »Aurora unterm goldenen Halbmond«, a transcultural, musical song evening, premiered in the LOFFT das Theater Leipzig. She is artistic director and founding member of the Leipzig Underground Opera (LUO), which she performed »HAGBOUND« for the first time with; participative musical theatre that explores ageism towards women*. Lissa Meybohm is part of the Irish vocal ensemble Anúna, the ensemble Renibre and the TONALi Bühnenakademie.
