Kathrin Tiedemann has been the artistic and managing director of the FFT (Forum Freies Theater) Düsseldorf since 2004. She studied in Berlin, where she experienced the time before and after the fall of the Berlin Wall in different media and theatre projects. She worked as an editor and author for the specialist journal Theater der Zeit and the weekly newspaper Der Freitag, was co-founder and, up until 2003, curator of the festival reich&berühmt and from 2001 until 2004 dramaturge at Kampnagel Hamburg.
She has published »Reality Strikes Back. Tage vor dem Bildersturm. Eine Debatte zum Einbruch der Wirklichkeit in den Bühnenraum« and »Reality Strikes Back II. Tod der Repräsentation. Die Zukunft der Vorstellungskraft in einer globalisierten Welt«. She is co-publisher of the series »Postdramatisches Theater in Portraits« of the Alexander Verlag Berlin. Kathrin Tiedemann is a lecturer at the institute for media and cultural studies at the Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf.
