Kane Kampmann has been living and working in Cologne since 1981 as a visual artist. She studied fine art painting and illustration at the Werkkunstschule Köln. Since then, she has worked varied projects, for example with the Circus Roncalli, for which she designed posters, wall art and costumes, or as scene painter and production designer for theatre, film and different television stations. In her own company for large-format projections, she was responsible for the artistic realisation of national and international projects, such as 50 Jahre NRW Düsseldorf, EXPO 2000 Hannover and the Udo Lindenberg tour 1992. She was also involved in the planning of the interior design of the Cologne Central Mosque.
Her multimedia light installations »Das Paradies ist anderswo«, »Humbolts Kosmos« and »le coeur« in three central churches of Cologne fascinated almost 9000 people. Following projects included »Kriegsenden in Köln«, exhibition concept, illustrations, graphic novels and façade projection on the Neptunbad, as well as illustrations for the book »Und wie werden alle in alle Winde verstreut! – Ausgrenzung und Ermordung der jüdischen Bevölkerung am Beispiel Köln«.
The career of Kane Kampmann is shaped by a fascinating breadth of artistic forms of expression. Her varied projects not only reflect historic reappraisal but also contemporary innovation. She leaves her creative marks not only on the art scene of Cologne but is globally regarded as an inspiring personality due to her international engagement.
