Jone Bolibar Núñez was born in Donostia-San Sebastián (Basque Country, Spain). She studied clarinet at the Basque Country Conservatory of Music (Musikene) and at the Berlin University of the Arts. She has performed with various orchestras and chamber music ensembles, including the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie, the Trickster Orchestra, Spira Mirabilis and the Zafraan Ensemble. She has performed at numerous music festivals across Europe, including MaerzMusik Berlin, Achtbrücken Cologne and the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence.

In recent years, she has focused intensively on music theatre. She was a member of the contemporary music theatre ensemble Opera Lab Berlin, with whom she appeared in many productions and world premieres. She has also worked with the collectives Björnsson/Marx and DieOrdnungDerDinge. Further theatre projects have taken her to the Staatstheater Cottbus, the German National Theatre Weimar, the Holland Festival and the Tischlerei at the Deutsche Oper Berlin.

Jone Bolibar Núñez lives and works as a clarinettist and music teacher in Berlin.
