Dr. med. Johannes Schwerdt (*1995) studied medicine in Bonn and has been working as a doctor in training since 2022. Apart from his studies, he has been engaging himself with MediNetzBonn e. V. since 2016 and was cofounder of the organisation Anonymer Krankenschein Bonn e. V. in 2019, which concerns itself with the medical care for people without insurance. Three years later, he was awarded a doctorate on the topic »Palliative care of people without health insurance«.

His work in the socio-medical sector has brought him into contact with the responsible bodies of the homeless assistance in Bonn. Inspired by this, he, along with several allies, founded the organisation stadtstreifen e. V. For five years already, the organisation has been organising city tours which are led by unhoused people. Over time, tours of people with refugee experiences were added. The goal of these city tours is to provide an insight at eye level into the realm of experience of people with whom most citizens of Bonn share an urban space, but not a lived reality.

Johannes Schwerdt has, in his social engagement, made experiences with the socio-politics of Bonn. Additionally, he sees both in his practical work as a doctor and his research the consequences of poverty on health as well as on the medical care for people.
