Johanna Klein is a saxophonist, sound artist and composer from Berlin. In her work, she connects acoustic and electronic sounds to multi-layered sound spaces between ambient, experimental music and free improvisation. The starting point of her performances is the tone colour of the saxophone, which is expanded, distorted and recontextualised through live electronics, loops and digital sound editing.
After her musical studies in Cologne, Johanna Klein moved to Berlin and there further developed her artistic practice at the intersection of instrumental sound research, electronic music and improvisational processes.
