Nothing much about I Am Roze’s (they/them) story is ordinary. Their first ever live performance was at the Royal Albert Hall London, the second was on Jools Holland: and international superstar Fred Again sampled Roze’s instagram clips for two songs on his second album at a time when Roze’s house had been destroyed by a hurricane, and Roze was displaced. The songs have since been streamed over 50m times.
Coming from Louisiana, a state that ranks bottom in the USA for most key metrics such as education and crime, but is also rich in deep rooted musical and spiritual heritage, Roze is wise beyond their years. With such honesty and emotion in their voice, it’s no surprise that Roze has won fans amongst legends like Lauryn Hill, Annie Lennox, Jill Scott and many more. Global sensation Sienna Spiro also recently asked Roze to sing at her headline show in Paris.
Roze has been travelling around the world, stunning audiences with some iconic performances, including COLORS, The Montreux Jazz Festival, and France’s best loved music television show Taratata. The videos of these shows have gone viral, amassing 100’s millions of views and gaining Roze a social media following of over 1.3m people.
With Spotify and Apple Music heavily supporting Roze’s latest releases, they will be dropping new music all summer, and the sky is the limit.
