Franziska Pieper is a musician and music educator with a passion for cross-disciplinary projects, songwriting and community music.
Her musical journey began in classical music. As a violist, violinist and singer, she gained her first experience in her family’s string quartet, sang in various choirs and played in renowned youth orchestras such as the Baden-Württemberg State Youth Orchestra, the NDR Youth Symphony Orchestra and the German National Youth Orchestra.
She later broadened her artistic horizons to include jazz, popular and world music through her engagement with various musical traditions and cultures, as well as through her studies at the conservatoires in Mannheim and Cologne. She is currently working on her first album with the indie-folk-pop duo emmaundfrances.
Alongside her studies, she has been involved in interdisciplinary projects, performative formats and cultural meeting spaces. For example, she was part of the German-Israeli-Palestinian exchange project Caravan Orchestra at Yiddish Summer Weimar and on the management team of the transcultural theatre project »Time to Play«.
She enthusiastically creates spaces for community through music – whether on open stages, at living room concerts or through musical events in public spaces.
