Eric Seohyun Moon is a Korean Violist who is making his unique path as an artist with his own artistic language. From Renaissance to contemporary music, Eric’s interest spans the whole classical music. He is a student of Prof. Tabea Zimmerman at the Frankfurt music academy and a scholar of Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben.
Eric Seohyun Moon won numerous major competitions: Dong-a Music Competition of the Music Association of Korea, the 24th Gaetano Zinetti International Competition in Italy. He participated at the Verbier Festival Academy and the Villars Music Academy and took masterclasses from Antoine Tamestit and Nils Mönkemeyer among others. As a solo player, He has played with the Korean National Symphony Orchestra, Hradec Králové Philharmonic Orchestra, Bucheon Philharmonic Orchestra, Gangnam Symphony Orchestra and made numerous recitals in Korea, Germany and in Italy.
From 2020 to 2022, He was a member of Abel Quartet and developed his musical career as a string quartet player, playing in numerous concerts and Festivals.
He is also a dedicated orchestral musician playing at the Berliner Philharmoniker as a guest player on tours in Salzburg, Luzern, London and Baden-Baden Osterfestspiele. From 2022 to 2024, Eric Seohyun Moon was a scholar of the Karajan-Akademie of the Berliner Philharmoniker mentored by Ulrich Knörzer. He has also appeared as guest player in orchestras such as Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin, hr-Sinfonieorchester, and Badische Staatskapelle. Apart from being a passionate musician, Eric Seohyun Moon is also an entrepreneur, being the founder of ClasscialMusicMatters on Instagram.
He is currently playing on the »Haiko Seifert, Plauen 2010« Viola generously loaned by Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben.
