Christoph Scheeben is an artist who, with impressive curiosity and versatility, has made his way through the most diverse artistic genres. His career began on the piano, but he was soon drawn to the stage – first as an actor, then as a singer. After studying at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik in Cologne, he perfected his vocal training in London, receiving important musical and vocal impulses from renowned teachers such as Diane Forlano, Tony Rolfe Johnson and Neil Semer.
The stage quickly became his second home, and he gained valuable experience in both acting and musical theatre. But his voice was not only heard in the theatre: he lent character to radio plays, used it in commercials and delighted audiences at Frankfurt’s legendary Tigerpalast as a presenter and chanson singer.
As a member of the Cöllner Canzonisten, a successful vocal ensemble, Scheeben also proved his vocal range in the art of ensemble singing. At the same time, he made a name for himself as a charismatic presenter with orchestras such as the Rheinische Philharmonie Koblenz and the WDR Radio Orchestra.
As an opera and concert singer, Christoph Scheeben has also become a much sought-after guest on radio programmes and concert stages. He has worked with renowned artists such as Ingeborg Danz, Christoph Prégardien, Stefan Litwin, Janine Jansen, Emmanuel Pahud and Éric Le Sage.
Since 2003, he has been passing on his experience as a lecturer at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen, where he inspires young talent. He is also no stranger to the humorous side of entertainment: since 2006 he has been a member of the cabaret at the Haus der Springmaus in Bonn, where he works closely with cabaret artist Andreas Etienne.
Whether as a singer, actor, presenter or cabaret artist, Christoph Scheeben is an artist who defies categorisation. His path is marked by a love of experimentation, expressiveness and a deep feeling for the stage in all its facets.
