»For all the fireworks and superbly executed technical devilry, there is a feeling here of essential calm.« The Strad (June 2022)
Born in France, violinist Charlotte Saluste-Bridoux was the 2021 Grand Prize winner of both the Young Classical Artists Trust (London) and Concert Artists Guild (New York) international auditions. Nominated as a 2022 Rising Star by Classic FM, she made her debut with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra in 2023 and the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra in 2024.
In 2024, Charlotte joined the award-winning Chiaroscuro Quartet, performing on historical instruments, with whom she has numerous international engagements.
In 2022, Champs Hill Records released Charlotte’s debut solo album Ostinata to critical acclaim. Her most recent release, a Schubert disc recorded with pianist Joseph Havlat, was issued by Delphian Records in May 2025. Her next major project – a live recording of the complete Mozart Violin Concertos and Sinfonia Concertante with Mathieu Herzog and the Appassionato Ensemble – is scheduled for release in spring 2027.
An avid chamber musician, Charlotte performs widely throughout the UK and mainland Europe, with appearances at Wigmore Hall, Britten Pears Arts, Konzerthaus Berlin, and Radio France. Highlights include Beethoven’s Violin Concerto with the London Mozart Players at the Thaxted Festival, where she serves as Artist-in-Residence for 2025. Latest projects included a trio performance with Joseph Havlat and Jonathan Leibovitz at Amici della Musica in Padova, as well as touring across the UK and Europe with the Chiaroscuro Quartet.
Charlotte has performed at the BBC Proms with 12 Ensemble and at the Gstaad Festival alongside Alina Ibragimova, Lawrence Power, and Sol Gabetta. She has appeared at international festivals including Prussia Cove, the Australian Chamber Music Festival, and the Bendigo Chamber Music Festival.
She is also an advocate for lesser-known repertoire, including concertos by Andrzej Panufnik, Pēteris Vasks, and Joseph Joachim, as well as Leonard Bernstein’s Serenade, which she has performed with the Budapest Concerto Orchestra conducted by András Keller.
Charlotte completed her Master’s degree at the Royal College of Music in London with Alina Ibragimova and will begin an Artistic Diploma at the Royal Academy of Music in September 2026, studying with Professor Robin Wilson and supported by the Bicentenary Scholarship. She previously studied in Montpellier and at the Yehudi Menuhin School with Natasha Boyarsky, and has worked in masterclasses with Ana Chumachenco, Zakhar Bron, Pavel Vernikov, Maxim Vengerov, and András Keller.
She plays a Giovanni Battista Rogeri violin and an Edwin Clement bow, kindly loaned by the Swiss Boubo-Music Foundation.
