Anselm Cybinski, born in 1967, studied violin in Cologne and London. He began his career as an orchestra musician. Afterwards, he worked as a press officer for ECM Records and as an Executive Producer for Sony Classical. He was a concert planner with the Münchener Kammerorchester and up until 2021 artistic director of the Niedersächsische Musiktage. At the Heidelberger Frühling, he led the department Programme and Dramaturgy. Since November 2025, he has been an editor for contemporary music with the WDR 3, where he holds the position of artistic director of the Wittener Tage für Neue Kammermusik. As an author he holds varied positions, for example writing for the Klavierpodcast mit Igor Levit.
