The Israeli soprano Alma Sadé was born in Tel Aviv into a family of actors and opera singers. She studied music in New York and has been performing at major opera houses across Europe since 2009.
Alma Sadé was a member of the ensemble at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein and, since 2014, has been a principal ensemble member of the Komische Oper Berlin. There she has appeared in leading roles including Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro, Pamina in The Magic Flute, and Maria in West Side Story. She also appeared as Jenny in Aufstieg und Fall der Stadt Mahagonny in Barrie Kosky’s acclaimed production.
To great critical acclaim, she performed the title role of Silva Varescu in Die Csárdásfürstin in Baden bei Wien. In 2025, Alma Sadé made her debut at La Scala, appearing as Anna I in Die sieben Todsünden and as Jenny in Aufstieg und Fall der Stadt Mahagonny.
