Adele Schneeweiß, born in Bergisch Gladbach in 2001, is an interdisciplinary artist working in dance, physical theatre, and performance. She explores the tension between the tangible nature of theatre and the abstract qualities of contemporary dance in her work. Queer-feminist perspectives and the political dimension of bodies and movement form the basis of her practice. She prefers to develop formats that extend beyond traditional stages, such as 360° settings and open space concepts, which facilitate collective experiences and accessibility.
She has been studying dance at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen since 2023. Prior to this, she explored art theory in depth as part of her art history studies in Cologne and Berlin, an experience that continues to influence her work to this day. She gained stage experience in the professional dance programme of the DART Dance Company in Berlin, performing at the Uferstudios and the Pfefferberg Theatre in 2023. Adele’s debut solo piece, »Lavender Rhino«, premiered in Essen in 2025 and subsequently toured to the Tanzhaus NRW in Düsseldorf.
Other notable performances include a dance piece at Berlin Fashion Week for the Sveason label (2025), a video performance set to Michael Paul’s music in Vienna (2023), and an interpretation of scenes from Pina Bausch’s »Kontakthof« in Essen (2024). She was also part of the founding and curatorial team for the »Unvollendet« (Unfinished) exhibition in Cologne in 2022, and collaborated with the Female Photo Club Berlin and photographer Silke Mayer on a photo exhibition in 2025.
During the current season, she appeared in the multimedia performance »I Hate Cowboys« in Hamburg (2025), which is a hybrid exploration of pop culture, capitalism, and digital physicality.
