»Actually this is all about a great invitation into a conversation, together with the courage to take risks and not to think: I need to do everything perfectly and correctly now.« Elisa Erkelenz, Outernational

A festival for all people – what does that mean for us, today and in the future? In a white paper, the Beethovenfest has formulated a basis for discussion on the question of how classical music can move into a future of greater diversity.
In this special episode of our podcast bee.contemporary, Barbara Stach from Beethovenfest talks to the members of the Sounding Board, who formed an artistic advisory board for the formulation of the white paper: Sandeep Bhagwati (composer and author), Elisa Erkelenz (music curator and author) and Derya Atakan (singer) talk about their careers between musical cultures and their vision for the future of the concert business.
On the final day of the Beethovenfest 2022, on 17 September at 11:00, a panel discussion on the white paper and the self-image of classical music institutions will take place at the Festival Centre Viktoriabad. Numerous panellists from cultural institutions, the media and academia will come together with the Beethovenfest organisers, the Sounding Board and the audience for a discussion.
