Mark Pringle is a Berlin-based pianist and composer from the UK who explores the intersection of different forms of composed and improvised music. He is a Yamaha Jazz Scholar, winner of the Peter Whittingham Award and has performed at many prestigious venues internationally. Pringle works as a bandleader and member in various artistic projects internationally, notably his trio Bright Dark as well as Book of Haikus, his large ensemble A Moveable Feast, Hayden Prosser’s Tether and many more.
He studied at the conservatories in Berlin, Copenhagen, Paris, Amsterdam and Birmingham. After completing his Bachelor’s degree in Birmingham, he was awarded the Jazz Department Performance Prize, the Dean’s Award for exceptional performance and the Principal’s Prize for his outstanding contribution to the life of the Conservatoire.
