Juliane Fehn is a music teacher, musician and community musician. After studying music pedagogy in Würzburg, she worked as a production assistant at the Bregenz Festival, after which she completed a traineeship in music education and orchestra management at WDR Cologne. Since the 2023/24 season, she has led the »Inside Out – PORTAL auf Achse« project at Theater Bonn, enabling children and young people to participate in cultural activities. In particular, community music approaches open up new ways of promoting collaborative music-making and creative self-efficacy. It is an area that she is developing further in Bonn with Max Kelm.
Max Kelm is an assistant director and music teacher at Theater Bonn, as well as working as a freelance composer and musician. He studied composition for film and theatre at ArtEZ in Arnhem, and undertook further training in music therapy in Duisburg. He brings a wealth of experience to the project as a piano and composition teacher, as well as through his commissioned work for dance, theatre, and film. Together with Juliane Fehn, he develops participatory music projects at Theater Bonn that focus on making music together and inventing their own songs creatively, to encourage greater self-expression, participation and community.
