VOX BONA Kammerchor der Kreuzkirche Bonn

Energy, enjoyment, enthusiasm, excellency – these key words describe the versatility of VOX BONA. The repertoire of these 45 semi-professionel singers includes masterpieces from all major music eras as well as contemporary music. VOX BONA places, however, particular emphasis on the performance of baroque oratorios and cantatas.

VOX BONA has taken part in broadcasts and recording sessions (CD production) with the WDR and Deutsche Welle and regularly compete in national and international competitions. In 2010, the choir won the 2nd prize and an exceptional prize for the most innovative and exciting competition programme in the »Deutscher Chorwettbewerb« which is one of the most important and renowned competitions in Germany.

Other prizes have been the 1st prize in the International Choir Competition in Budapest (2007), the 1st prize in the Choir Competition North Rhine Westphalia, Germany (2009) and the 1st prize in each of these competitions in the XII. Concorso Corale Internationale Riva del Garda (Italy, 2012): »Mixed choirs with compulsory piece«, »Sacred Music«, »Grand Prize« (Category winner) as well as the audience prize.

Extraordinary projects of the last years were a CD production audite with »Die Nacht ist vorgedrungen« (world premiere) by Wolfgang Seifen in 2009 and five performances of Bach's St. John Passion as a modern dance theatre in 2011. Last year the choir has been invited to participate at the opening concert of the »Wiener Festwochen«, live-broadcasted in ORF and 3sat.
