An accomplished musician, Tanguy de Williencourt is a well-established soloist and a much sought- after chamber musician. Holder of four Master’s degrees from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique of Paris under the direction of Roger Muraro, Claire Desert and Jean-Frédéric Neuburger, he has also been honoured by the Blüthner and Banque Populaire foundations. Furthermore, he receives continuous support and guidance from Maria João Pires, Christoph Eschenbach, Stephen Kovacevich and Paul Badura-Skoda who are of great influence in his work.
In 2016, Tanguy de Williencourt was awarded both the Prize of the Jury and the Public Prize by the Société des Arts of Geneva. The same year, he was named ’Classical Revelation’ by ADAMI and was the recipient of the Generation SPEDIDAM 2017-19 Award. Finally, he won the 2017 Paris Chamber Orchestra Prize at the Paris Play-Direct competition held at the Philharmonie de Paris.
Tanguy de Williencourt has been invited to perform in large and prestigious concert halls such as the St. Petersburg Philharmonic, the Berliner Philharmonie and the Philharmonie de Paris, as well as at renowned festivals such as the Radio France festival in Montpellier, the Pablo Casals festival in Prades, the festival Les Chorégies d’Orange, Les Victoires de la Musique, the Yehudi Menuhin festival in Gstaad (Switzerland), the festival La Folle Journée de Nantes and the festival La Roque d’Anthéron. Next season, he will peform at the Festival Via Aeterna, Toulon Music Festival, the Seine Musicale en Théâtre des Champs- Elysées in Paris.
He has shared the stage with skilled musicians such as Olivier Charlier, Pierre Fouchenneret, Guillaume Chilemme, Adrien Boisseau, Bruno Philippe, Jérôme Pernoo, Paul Meyer, Philippe Bernold, as well as with acclaimed singers such as Mireille Delunsch and Vincent le Texier, and has been directed by accomplished conductors such as Jean-Christophe Spinosi and Raphael Pichon.
His discography includes two records with the cellist Bruno Philippe – Brahms/Schumann (Evidence Classics), Beethoven/Schubert (Harmonia Mundi) – as well as the complete transcriptions for piano of Wagner/Liszt in double CD (Mirare). A solo CD with work of Beethoven will be released in 2020 (Mirare).
