CCN – Ballet de Lorraine
The Ballet de Lorraine received Centre Chorégraphique National status in 1999 and has since then devoted itself to contemporary choreography. In 2011 Petter Jacobsson became manager and artistic director.
The CCN – Ballet de Lorraine consists of 26 dancers and is considered one of the leading companies in Europe. It regularly premieres new works by notable choreographers, such as Rachid Ouramdane, Cindy van Acker and Emanuel Gat. The company also has a highly ambitious and extensive repertoire with works from choreographers who have made a significant impression on the recent history of dance, including Merce Cunningham, William Forsythe and Mathilde Monnier.
The CCN – Ballet de Lorraine functions as an artistic centre as well as a venue with countless opportunities for artistic research, experimentation and production. It thinks of itself as a platform open to varying disciplines and offers space for many-faceted perspectives of dance, as well as the issues of our times.
