The Beethovenfest 2020 is postponed to 2021

Only a few days ago it became clear that the Beethovenfest in September 2020 cannot take place either. With respect to this, the City of Bonn and Beethovenfeste Bonn gGmbH regret with great regret that the Beethovenfest Bonn 2020 under the motto "Resurrect, yes, resurrect" cannot take place as planned between September 4 and 27, 2020, due to the still unclear conditions.

Therefore, the festival under the artistic direction of Nike Wagner will probably be postponed to the period from August 20 to September 10, 2021.
Two events are excluded from the postponement and will allow the Beethovenfest Bonn to be open to the public even during the containment of the Corona Pandemic: According to current plans, the special concert "Missa im Dom" will be recorded and streamed on the Internet on August 21, 2020 as a concert without an audience in Cologne Cathedral; the tickets issued free of charge will lose their validity and need not be returned. The event "Bauprobe Beethoven" will take place as an artistic site visit to the Beethovenhalle Bonn as previously announced, subject to strict conditions.

Precise information from Friday, June 19, 2020

At this point in time, it is not foreseeable whether all of the planned events of the Beethovenfest 2020 can be postponed to the year 2021. Precise information on the validity, exchange or refund of tickets already purchased will be announced from Friday, June 19, 2020.

It is planned that tickets will remain valid for all concerts offered on a new date. Alternatively, it should be possible to cancel tickets free of charge and the ticket price will then be refunded. In addition, there will be the possibility to exchange already purchased tickets for vouchers for other concerts. Ticket holders are asked to wait until this date before deciding on one of the return options. Questions will be answered immediately at verschiebung@beethovenfest.de.
