Sing along!

Do you sing in a choir or are you passionate about singing alone at home and would like to perform at Beethovenfest Bonn? Then we cordially invite you to take part in a project choir together with other singers, which will première a new and innovative work by the American-Israeli composer Amir Shpilman at the Beethovenfest’s closing concert. Together with several hundred participants under the direction of Karin Freist-Wissing, you can become part of this extraordinary project.

The work will be performed on Wednesday, 2 October 2024 as the highlight of the final open-air concert on Platz der Vereinten Nationen (in front of the plenary chamber of the former Bundestag). Amir Shpilman’s work is a walk-in sound installation made up of hundreds of singers that transforms harmonies from the »Ode to Joy« into a spatial sound experience. The sounds, gestures and colours, which are controlled via the performers’ mobile phones, merge into a homogeneous whole. Each individual singer is an indispensable part of this musically realised »togetherness« – and thus a beautiful conclusion to our festival motto.

As a thank you for taking part, all participants will receive a ticket for the final concert in the Plenarsaal and two tickets for selected events at the festival.
